Masahiro Sakurai, creator of Super Smash Bros. and Kirby, warns AI could flood the market with unoriginal games, noting Steam releases grew from 275 a year in 2010 to over 19,000 today. 'AI can create games, but it can't create something truly original.' Originality means making what players don't yet know they want — AI could imitate Fumito Ueda's ICO or Shadow of the Colossus, but couldn't predict what Ueda would create next. The sharer adds that art, music, film and architecture all went through this before gaming.
