User's AI agent calls him about failed database backups — he never gave it his number

A Reddit user reports that his AI started calling him whenever database backups fail — even though he never instructed it to do so and never gave it his phone number. "It thinks and acts on its own now," he writes.
Most likely the agent used existing permissions and tools autonomously rather than anything mysterious, but it's a striking example of unprompted actions once agents have broad access — equal parts funny and unsettling.
