PyTorch details KTIR and Dataflow Scheduler behind IBM's Spyre accelerator backend
PyTorch · x · 2026-10-21
A PyTorch blog post by IBM's Spyre team explains how PyTorch workloads become executable on AI accelerators: KTIR, an MLIR representation capturing work distribution and tensor residency, feeds a new open-source Dataflow Scheduler that expands kernels into nested, double-buffered dataflow pipelines. The output, SpyreCode, is a symbolic SpyreBinary plus a job plan prepared once and launched many times. Part two of a three-part series on torch-spyre, fully open source.
