Smartsheet launches GA MCP Server on AWS with 40+ tools for AI agents
AWS ML Blog · rss · 2026-10-21
Smartsheet has launched a generally available MCP Server on AWS, letting AI assistants read, write, and manage work-management data through a standardized protocol spanning 40+ tools for sheets, rows, columns, and automations.
- Streamable HTTP transport (MCP spec 2025-06-18 and 2025-03-26), OAuth 2.0 or PAT auth, three regional endpoints (US/EU/AU).
- Returns precisely structured context (row relationships, column types, cell history, comments) for token-efficient payloads.
- Two integration paths: Amazon Quick as a pre-built connector for business users to query and update sheets in natural language, and the Kiro agentic IDE where a single JSON config gives developers live project context, plus hooks that auto-update row status on commit.
- Full setup walkthrough with prerequisites, console configuration, and example queries included.
