- Startup Radical Numerics announced the first use of an AI-designed virus (phage) to treat a human patient with a deadly antibiotic-resistant bacterial infection.
- The company built the viruses with its new AI model Omnii, and is also applying it to cancer vaccine design and pandemic risk prediction.
- A technical report was posted on the company site but is not peer-reviewed; patient details are withheld citing confidentiality. CEO Eric Nguyen says the trial was FDA-authorized and full results will be published later.
