CapCut x Codex Launches: Chat-Based AI Video Editing Comes to ChatGPT
Shruti_0810 · x · 2026-10-21
ByteDance's CapCut launched CapCut × Codex, a plugin that connects ChatGPT desktop tasks to CapCut's editing pipeline. Users paste a prompt that installs and authorizes the plugin via an official SKILL.md.
- Natural-language editing: describe captions, filters, transitions, and Codex calls CapCut's libraries for music, sound effects, and visual effects.
- Generation and drafting: create images/video from prompts or upload existing footage, with the timeline accessible in chat for finer control.
- Available outside the U.S. now, with a U.S. launch coming soon, promoted alongside a Black Friday deal.
