tsrs: an agent-written Rust port of TypeScript is 8x faster than TS 7.0 with 70% less memory
cnakazawa · x · 2026-10-20
voidzerodev introduced tsrs, a Rust port of the TypeScript compiler written entirely by agents:
- Not a fork — built in close collaboration with the TypeScript team
- Up to 8x faster than TS 7.0, 70% less memory
- Runs in WASM, works in browsers and on Workers
- Soon part of the Oxc toolchain; try via npx tsrs
Owner's engineering blog benchmarks it with 4 checkers over a median of 20 runs, cutting typecheck time from 80 seconds to 7 seconds.
