QA Cockpit: open-source tool gives coding agents a view of every user's screen
ibanborras · reddit · 2026-10-20
QA Cockpit is a free MIT-licensed npm package for testing collaborative web apps with coding agents. Describe a scenario in Markdown (participants, devices, actions, expected screens) and the agent turns it into a Playwright recording. Each user gets their own session and device profile with concurrent actions, exposing shared-state and timing bugs. A shared timeline shows every user's screen side by side with screenshots, requests and page errors; pinned notes feed position and step context back to the agent. Network/CPU timing can vary per user to surface race conditions, reproducible with the same seed. Replay uses Playwright without LLM calls, and the agent can repair recordings when the app changes. Bonus: tests double as demo videos.
