Dev ports Minecraft 26.3 terrain noise to GPU shader, hitting 280 FPS with 32 draw calls in VRChat

A Minecraft Java modder with 7 years and 25M+ CurseForge downloads ported Minecraft 26.3's terrain noise generator to run entirely in a GPU shader inside VRChat. Each player generates chunks locally while Udon handles collision, block placement and change tracking; no Unity lights — the terrain shader does all lighting. Tests show 10-chunk render distance at a stable 280 FPS with just 32 draw calls, 100% matching the original terrain. 95% of blocks don't function yet; the author says it's not vibecoded.
