Mundane Bot's haptic teleoperation robot lets line workers feel through the machine
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-20
Robert Scoble visited Mundane Bot in Silicon Valley, which builds an industrial teleoperation robot for electrical line workers. The differentiator is its haptics system — he could remotely "feel" water filling a cup he held. The business case is equally clever: utility workers keep their jobs, operating safely from a van while their robots handle dangerous high-voltage lines in wind and heat. Teleoperation plus touch feedback is a pragmatic path for robots in high-risk industries.
