How I use AI to book flights and hotels and save hundreds of dollars
Efistoffeles · reddit · 2026-10-20
A Reddit user shares an AI-powered travel booking workflow (Claude + Booking.com/Tripadvisor connectors) that saves him hundreds of dollars:
- Date-window price hunting: AI searches 1-2 weeks of dates against city events; the same NYC hotel cost $441 one Friday vs $666 a week later due to an event.
- Refundable vs non-refundable arbitrage: gaps averaged 11% across 43 hotels (often under 2%); he books refundable, then runs a daily scheduled task to rebook if prices drop.
- Marriott rate-match: AI checks chain membership and cheaper third-party rates — Marriott matches and adds 25% off or 5,000 points.
- Delay claims: on departure day it monitors flights, drafts EU261 claims (€250-600) for 3+ hour delays, and flags when US flights qualify for cash refunds over vouchers.
All connectors work with Claude and reportedly ChatGPT too.
