OpenAI claims proof of the quasi-Riemann hypothesis, and human mathematicians have verified it

Quanta reports on the most striking of 377 results OpenAI announced on October 6: a claimed proof of the quasi-Riemann hypothesis, a weaker version of the 160-year-old Riemann hypothesis. Stanford's Jared Duker Lichtman calls it 'the most significant AI-for-math achievement so far, by quite a margin'; NYU's Maksym Radziwiłł says most consequences of RH already follow from quasi-RH and the implications are 'staggering'. Surprisingly, the proof introduced no new concepts but synthesized well-known ones — and unlike prior AI proofs, human experts have unpacked and verified it.
