NVIDIA researcher Hyunwoo Kim poses the question to post-training folks: do you really need to post-train every base model to find the best coding agent? Their method predicts future SWE-bench rankings at ρ=0.964 before any post-training, with scatter plots showing all three probes (Decisive-Action BPB, Patch MCQ, Prefix pass@K) strongly correlating with post-training results across 10 checkpoints.
