HumanEval predicts coding-agent potential negatively; new probe hits ρ=0.964
hyunw_kim · x · 2026-10-20
The NVIDIA team's paper thread shows traditional coding benchmarks are poor predictors of future coding-agent performance: HumanEval even correlates negatively (ρ=-0.394), RepoBench XFirst manages ρ=0.830, while their decisive-action probe reaches ρ=0.964. Best coding performance today ≠ best coding-agent potential in the future.
