Dev open-sources a 20-question readiness checklist before agents touch production data
Then_Respect_1964 · reddit · 2026-10-20
A developer has cleaned up and published the internal checklist his previous team used before letting agents go GA on production data, augmented with incident-driven additions from this year.
- 20 questions across 5 areas: identity & permissions, data protection, audit, ops, and autonomy.
- New items draw on real incidents: database deletions by agents, unapproved data reads, and exposed MCP servers with raw SQL tools.
- A readiness index takes 10 minutes, assigns a level from "experimental" to "autonomous ready," and surfaces the top 3 gaps worth fixing first.
The author is still iterating and asks users to report which questions felt off or unfair.
