Claude Code-built game got 664 plays and under 1% day-two retention

Developer froessell published an honest postmortem of Bolt Pit, a browser game built with Claude Code: since launching on CrazyGames on October 15 it has logged 664 plays, earned $0, and fewer than 1 in 100 players returned the next day.
- Core point: making a game look great in a 30-second reel is one thing; getting it into players' hands is another; getting them to stick around is yet another — regardless of whether AI was used.
- AI dramatically lowered the bar to ship a game, but not the bar to ship one that's fun and sticky.
A useful market signal for indie devs eyeing AI-built games: distribution and retention remain the hard part.
