Reddit thread: how are people setting up their at-home AI coding environments?
Amont168 · reddit · 2026-10-20
A developer enjoys their company's "developer space" that aggregates internal MCPs with Claude Code integrated, and wants something similar at home. Their attempts so far (GPT's Codex window, GitHub Copilot) were underwhelming—biggest issue being GPT's 5-hour limit exhausted in 10 prompts. They ask the community what local setups people run at home: Claude in the terminal, Cursor connected to something, etc., hoping to find a good configuration for adding AI to existing hand-coded projects.
