IKEA manuals come alive: BILLY bookcase rebuilt in 3D, all 82 hardware pieces tracked

Developer Ryan Sael rebuilt IKEA's real BILLY bookcase manual (AA-1823127-9) as an interactive 3D web page, letting you watch every assembly step happen exactly as drawn.
- Faithful to the printed manual: same parts, same order, and all 82 hardware pieces counted as they go in (16 dowels, 12 cam screws, 12 cam locks, 18 nails, 16 shelf pins, etc.);
- Explains how cam locks actually clamp panels via an internal spiral ramp, while dowels only align and the nailed back panel stops racking;
- Supports step-through timelines, clicking manual drawings to jump to steps, and click-to-hear part names; a LACK table version is included.
Brandon Galang called it an excellent agentic use case for anyone who hates assembling flat-pack furniture.
