Codex Desktop on Windows silently exits during concurrent tasks, memory surges reported

Issue #53965 in openai/codex reports Codex Desktop (26.1007.71326, codex-cli 0.162.0-alpha.17.2) on Windows 11 silently exiting — full browser-main process crashes, not renderer reloads — while working on several concurrent tasks, with UI stuttering, unresponsive chat switching, and captured memory surges. Crashpad sidecars and a minidump timeline show crashes persisting after the October 14 update.
