OpenCode PR adds Subagents side-panel to track subagent cost, tokens and status live
sdpfigueiredo · ghdev · 2026-10-15
A community PR (#55496) to anomalyco/opencode adds a "Subagents" side-panel tab to the GUI, so subagent activity no longer gets buried in the main agent's log stream.
- Each spawned subagent gets a row with task name, live status, cost, token usage and model; clicking a row drills into that subagent's full session output, with new subagents appearing at the top.
- Implementation: a gui-extensions side-region contribution (packages/gui-extensions/src/agents); children come from the live sync store filtered by parentID plus a one-shot family backfill — no polling or per-child requests. Running/retrying states derive from the live status map; terminal states come from the parent session's subagent tool parts, including aborted structured errors and synthetic completion notices.
- Status icons match the timeline's task cards; copy ships with i18n covering 62 locales.
- Verification: 33 unit tests covering status-derivation precedence, sorting/filtering, cost/token formatting; typecheck clean, oxlint 0 warnings.
The PR ports previously closed V1-only #39382 to the current architecture, weighing in at +1913/-56 lines across 15 files.
