Flux 3 Klein V2 tested: fewer anatomy fails, but still loses to Qwen and Krea2 in T2I

Black Forest Labs quietly shipped a fixed Flux 3 Klein V2 just a day after the first release (nobody noticed amid Moss Image hype). A Reddit user benchmarked Flux 2 Klein (9B), Klein V1, and V2.

Improvements: anatomy problems dropped sharply — a good image now lands in 1-4 attempts vs. 4-6 before; fewer warping details. "Turned a model that was a piece of crap into something at least usable."

Remaining issues: detail loss, plastic-looking skin, eye problems, occasionally SDXL-level anatomy. Quality improves notably above 4 megapixels with Qwen 3.5 9B Prompt Upsampler — but then it's no longer "Klein" but "Groß": 16s for 1080p, 4m19s for 4K on an RTX 3090.

Verdict: no reason to pick it for T2I over Qwen 2.1, Krea2, or MOSS Image; but worth keeping for I2I/Edit — fewer anatomy fails, decent context understanding, and an interesting "Box" editing system, in a space with few good edit models. At 5.6B params it's small; a 9-12B version is hoped for.
