Powermove: an open-source Mac video editor Claude Code extends while it runs
Asleep_Struggle4443 · reddit · 2026-10-19
Powermove is a Mac video editor that lets Claude Code write new features into the app while it's running: ask for a missing panel, effect or workflow and the agent writes an extension that hot-loads into the open app, with every change undoable.
Key points:
- Nearly the whole editor (timeline, effects, inspector) is built from those same extensions, so the built-in agent has the same tools the developers used to build it.
- The team built the editor with Claude Code in about two months; because each panel is its own extension, Claude could rebuild one without breaking the rest, iterating through multiple rounds of build-use-feedback-redo per panel.
- Free and open source, Apple Silicon only for now.
