Weekly recap: five vendors ship agent controls at five layers, desk-side AI draws most readers
shashib · x · 2026-10-19
Shashi's weekly recap (Oct 11–17) covers 29 posts and surfaces three trends:
- Desk-side AI traction: Adobe's NVIDIA speedups and Meta's Muse Spark model, which runs on two or four linked Mac Studios, drew the most readers by a wide margin.
- Agent controls at five layers: ServiceNow, Kiro, NinjaOne, Palo Alto Networks and Workday each placed agent governance at a different layer — credential, kernel limit, human approver, runtime check, and system of record.
- Deals: Schneider Electric's $22.6B acquisition of PTC drew about a third of the readership of Upwind's Snowflake security launch.
His advice: ask each agent vendor whether its controls apply to agents built by other vendors, find out who can change agent policy in your company, and check whose hardware roadmap your desk-side AI depends on.
