For 4B-12B models, NPU solutions beat gaming laptops on cost
draginol · x · 2026-10-19
draginol adds to his thread: 12B and even 4B models can be extremely useful, but for those workloads NPU-based solutions from Qualcomm, AMD or Intel cost far less than a gaming laptop.
This complements his earlier benchmark — gaming laptops are neither good at large local models nor cost-effective for small ones; hardware choice should follow model size.
