Codex Browser Use blocks WeChat analytics dashboard before any user approval
KonstanzDPS · ghdev · 2026-10-13
A user found that Codex App on Windows (26.1007.2314.0), using the Chrome integration, could not perform an account-owner-authorized read-only inspection of the WeChat analytics dashboard: the site-safety policy rejected the action before any permission prompt or Auto-review.
The blocked route is https://wedata.weixin.qq.com/mp2/basic-data/core-data with no account identifiers or query params. Tab discovery works and the same connection can read and interact with other public sites. The block occurs under both Ask and Always allow browsing permissions, with no custom blocked-site exception set, and the reporter explicitly attempted no bypass.
The issue highlights that Codex Browser Use hard-blocks certain domains including WeChat properties, overriding even owner-authorized read-only workflows.
