DeepSeek has launched two APIs — Search (web search) and Fetch (web page scraping) — both priced at 5 RMB per 1,000 requests, about $0.75/1k calls. The author notes its search quality is notably good, even able to read the full text of WeChat official account articles, as demonstrated in the screenshots.
He also shipped a Skill for easy integration into agent workflows:

Real-world testing shows the interface works, though result diversity was mediocre (mostly Baidu Baike pages and duplicate reports) — still a handy web-research tool for agents.
