LLMs push clever people toward Hegel: language may perfectly correspond to reality
CatAstro_Piyush · x · 2026-10-18
A philosophical take on LLMs (with a Hegel portrait): since machines built purely from language can generate extremely accurate images and videos from text and describe what they see, researchers are forced to admit language really does describe reality. The author argues Hegel — the only modern philosopher claiming reality is fully comprehensible in thought — will be vindicated, as LLMs show no unbridgeable gap between thought and reality. The quoted poster wryly notes this amounts to believing in one true language derived from reality's structure.
