Hexagon, a new math preprint repository that accepts works arXiv won't, launches in beta

Hexagon (hexagonmath.org), a new preprint repository for mathematics and theoretical computer science — with Ben Green among its early contributors — has launched in beta, prompting the question of how it differs from arXiv.
- Its mission is preservation, dissemination, study and evaluation of research-level works, both original and expository
- It performs no peer review; deposits pass automated screening plus a human moderator during beta, and acceptance implies no judgment of correctness, quality or novelty
- Scope is broader than arXiv: it accepts works contributors may not wish to or be able to submit elsewhere; arXiv-suitable works can still go to both
- Browsable by math, TCS and related subject categories (mathematical physics, quantum physics, statistics theory)
