GLM 5.3 finds arbitrary-write vulnerability in Apollo 11 guidance code
moyix · x · 2026-10-18
A user showed GLM 5.3 auditing the Apollo 11 guidance computer assembly and discovering a high-risk unauthorized arbitrary-write vulnerability in the P27 uplink update path. The attached analysis shows the code only validates bank-boundary alignment rather than whitelisting addresses, letting an uplink sequence switch EBANK and write to arbitrary memory — including the protected FLAGWRD0 area — tampering with guidance data. Delivered as a joke aimed at a Leonid Brezhnev parody account.
