Issue #101164 on anthropics/claude-code requests an official graphical chat side panel for Claude Code in JetBrains IDEs (PyCharm/IntelliJ), with rendered Markdown, code blocks, diffs, and history — matching the VS Code experience instead of a bare terminal tab.
The author also wants Claude Pro subscriptions to work directly in the CLI and JetBrains workflow without relying on JetBrains AI or workarounds. Their argument: the model is already good enough — UX is now the bottleneck for adoption.
