Claude running a SaaS 24/7 autonomously found and proposed a fix for a broken signup funnel
mhmazur · x · 2026-10-17
Developer mhmazur lets Claude work autonomously 24/7 on his timeline-maker SaaS Preceden, gradually broadening its scope. Unprompted, Claude spotted a broken conversion funnel: AI-generated timelines usually exceed 25 events while the free plan caps at 10, so new signups landed in an editor where adding events was already disabled.
Claude dug into code, copy, and production data, then proposed a structured fix:
- Let free users add 5 of their own events on AI-generated timelines, paywall from the 6th (with exact files and toggles named);
- Restore a 2023 regression where the signup page no longer shows the timeline thumbnail;
- Honest copy edits: drop the misleading "Try it Free" and state that adding events requires a paid plan;
- Add a one-line server-side counter to measure upgrade-prompt-to-charge (currently only Mixpanel/Hotjar).
Claude even recommended option (a), defined a read-back metric (target: >1% paid conversion from generation signups after 28 days), and asked the owner to approve items individually — a showcase of what autonomous agents can do with the right setup.
