EG: enough calories are produced globally, yet 645 million people still go hungry

Responding to claims that food technology is 'solved', researcher Ege Erdem notes global calorie production is already sufficient, yet 645 million people still go hungry — the bottlenecks are poverty, conflict, infrastructure and distribution. He adds that agricultural tech isn't done either: better yields, drought-resistant crops, cheaper fertilisers and irrigation/storage can make nutritious food more affordable. We need both better technology AND better distribution.
