Münster robotics startup Roboteur is building R1, a two-armed household robot that folds laundry, loads dishwashers and sets tables. To teach its AI from human demonstrations, it's hiring students at €20/h to record chores using UMI (Universal Manipulation Interface) grippers with cameras plus a Meta Quest 3 in passthrough mode; each recording takes under a minute, with VR teleoperation of the real robot later. The poster adds they're running experiments in real homes while RL trains in the data center.
