One prompt, one working app: Claude wows a novice with MSR reader integration
Spiritual_Self6583 · reddit · 2026-10-17
A Reddit user who barely knows computers sent Claude (Opus, $20 plan) one message about his aging MSR card reader, and got back a working Android app — Claude couldn't compile locally, so it produced a file he pushed to GitHub to build. Core features worked on the first try; a bug was fixed in one follow-up.
He later moved to a Claude Code session, where the model set up Android dev tooling, previews UI changes before compiling, and reverse-engineers the undocumented device on its own — evidence that average users barely scratch AI's real potential.
