hitslop: open-source single-file mini apps on macOS that your AI agent builds and edits
Jonovono · reddit · 2026-10-17
hitslop is a free, open-source macOS tool (Apple Silicon, written in Rust) that ships 50+ tiny apps — invoice generator, focus timer, packing list, flashcards, a Winamp music player, a koi pond — each as a single file on your desktop that you can edit by hand or hand to an AI agent, with instant updates either way.
- Every app is one lightweight file (often 200KB or larger): no account, no subscription, works offline; copy or send to a friend; export to PNG/PDF; many run as desktop widgets;
- Born from the author's fatigue with signing up and subscribing for every small tool — most mini apps should just be little files;
- Site: hitslop.com; repo: github.com/hitSlop/hitslop. "Point your agent at it and see what it makes." Windows and Linux are planned.
