Grep Launches Upgraded MCP to Build and Run Agents from Claude, ChatGPT and Codex
garrytan · x · 2026-10-17
On day 5 of its launch week, Grep.ai shipped an improved MCP that makes its agents usable from Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, or any MCP client.
- Agent from a sentence: Grep designs the prompt, skills and tools, previews its plan, keeps every version, and shares it with your team.
- Run from any chat: the agent's form opens in the conversation, price is shown before it starts, you can steer it mid-run, and collect all files it produces.
- Control: every run is capped, with credits, usage and API keys queryable at any time.
