Frontier lab post-training teams draw few grads from top NLP programs
lateinteraction · x · 2026-10-16
A discussion points out that post-training teams at OpenAI, Anthropic and DeepMind are mostly not staffed by NLP grads from Stanford/MIT/CMU, but packed with grads from other "solved" fields like vision, robotics and ML.
Relative to the small pool of NLP grads from those schools, though, they are still well represented in frontier post-training roles — a sign of how diverse frontier AI talent pipelines have become.
