RSI began when model outputs augmented next-gen training data, agents just escalated it

The author argues recursive self-improvement (RSI) didn't start with agents — it began when model-generated output was first used to augment next-generation training data; agents just took it to the next stage. He adds that RL environment startups may collectively sweat when the intermediary solving costs blocks a direct model-reality loop, which is very hard to build.
