AIPOCH open-sources Open-Science workbench with reproducible .science packages

AIPOCH has open-sourced the Open-Science AI research workbench (Apache 2.0) with a new .science package format: bundle chosen research sessions, file versions, computation records and review evidence into one deliverable that recipients can inspect read-only, then fork into a writable copy to continue — tackling the traceability and handoff problem of AI-assisted research. The preprint lists authors from 76 institutions worldwide.
Key features
- Independent versioning links every result file back to the Notebook run, messages and review records that produced it, distinguishing message attachments, tool-observed access, and actual computation inputs;
- Reviewer comments bind to specific versions and scopes — post-fix versions correctly show as "unreviewed";
- Selective sharing: omitted content keeps identity records marked unavailable; evidence required for computation cannot be deselected;
- Compatible with RO-Crate; ships with literature library and managed Python/R environments.
Validation: on a constructed error-fix-revise workflow, full and partial exports imported into empty projects matched on all 138 exported fields and semantic comparisons; offline recomputation reproduced saved CSVs byte-for-byte. Desktop apps available; CEO Wang Huimei says "the era of Vibe Research is coming."
