OpenCode bug: invalid opencode.json silently ignored, leaving users clueless
melato · ghdev · 2026-10-12
A reproduced issue against OpenCode v2.0.27 reports that an invalid /.config/opencode/opencode.json (e.g. containing just {) is silently ignored — the CLI starts normally with no error.
The reporter reproduced it on debian-13 (glibc) and alpine (musl) standalone binaries: after writing invalid JSON, opencode models runs without complaint. The real pain point: his ollama provider config is sometimes ignored, and without error output there is no way to diagnose why. The issue is labeled reproduced.
