anthropics/skills issue: docx tracked-change markup lacks templates and .dotx files get rejected
danvanostrand · ghdev · 2026-10-11
An audit of anthropics/skills against Claude's official skill authoring best practices surfaced issue #2001 in the docx skill: tracked-change OOXML markup (w:id/w:author/w:date, delText, deleted paragraph marks, w:del placement) is specified only in prose despite being the most fragile markup the skill asks a model to produce — it should get copy-paste XML templates or a redline.py helper like comments already have; and acceptchanges.py:46 hardcodes a .docx-only check, so producing a clean copy of a Word template (.dotx) with tracked changes fails despite the skill's docs covering templates.
