Researcher criticizes Claude for lecturing users and refusing critical takes on tech firms
BlancheMinerva · x · 2026-10-16
Researcher BlancheMinerva vents about Claude's behavior: the model keeps lecturing her on Anthropic's values whenever she writes something critical of a tech company's views, and in her experience it performs poorly on actual research problems (slightly worse than Astra). She concedes Claude is better at maintaining spreadsheets, though. A pointed example of how alignment-heavy tuning can undercut a model's usability for critical writing and research work.
