EU Moves to Fast-Track Satellite Venture Seen as Europe's SpaceX Answer
robleclerc · x · 2026-10-16
The EU aims to give speedy antitrust approval to a satellite venture seen as the bloc's answer to SpaceX, after intense talks with partners Leonardo, Airbus and Thales, according to a person familiar with the matter.
A commenter argues space is hard: even without delays the venture would be at least three years behind ASTS, and Europe can't risk waiting that long — better to use ASML as leverage and cut a deal with the US to acquire ASTS.
