Dario Amodei says AI better than humans at almost everything may be 2-3 years away
PolarBearby · x · 2026-10-16
Dario Amodei claimed we may be only two or three years from AI systems outperforming humans at almost all tasks — a "country of geniuses in a data center" that could cure diseases, double human lifespan, and even build robots to project itself into the physical world, raising questions about the balance of power.
The remarks drew sharp criticism: critics asked "who is asking for this future," arguing that if Amodei truly cared about democracy he would be asking people worldwide right now whether they want it.
