Claude Desktop update force-hides built-in Routines sidebar with no toggle to restore it
sumitcareteams · ghdev · 2026-10-15
A regression bug in Claude Desktop 2.37337.1 (Windows Store/MSIX) hides the built-in Routines sidebar section after update, with no UI toggle to bring it back — context menus and the View menu offer no option, despite docs referencing one.
The reporter tried multiple workarounds, all failing: internal sidebar MCP tools can't set shown on built-in sections; computer use can't operate Claude's own window by design; editing persisted state on disk didn't survive relaunch. Scheduled routines still run — only the entry point is gone.
