Paras Chopra highlighted a "heartbreaking" Hacker News thread from someone being replaced by AI, arguing doubters of AI displacement should read it. Quoting it, Ayush offers two takeaways: (1) don't attach your identity to your job — professional obsolescence used to arrive slowly by retirement age, but AI is accelerating uselessness and its mental health toll, so build a life beyond work (friends, family, hobbies, art, philosophy); (2) keep pivoting and reskilling — adaptability is the only game as AI comes for everything we call "work."
