SHOES: 10 minutes of real-robot RL lets quadrupeds walk in shoes, CoRL 2026 paper
kscottz · x · 2026-10-16
The CoRL 2026 paper SHOES asks whether robots can expand where they can walk by changing shoes, like humans. Putting shoes on a quadruped degrades its barefoot policy; SHOES recovers it with just 10 minutes of RL on the real robot — 'one small step for legged robotics.'
