WorldMemArena Accepted at NeurIPS: Memory Storage ≠ Memory Use
xwang_lk · x · 2026-10-16
WorldMemArena, a benchmark for agentic memory, has been accepted to NeurIPS 2026. It argues memory should be evaluated as a derived capability that makes agents better at acting over time, not as storage. Instrumenting the full write → maintain → retrieve → use lifecycle across 400 multimodal, multi-session tasks via action–world interaction, it shows that better storage and retrieval do not necessarily yield better task performance — marking the end of the storage-centric era of memory evaluation.
