XERJ hits #1 on GitHub Trending, claims 40x token savings vs grep for AI agents
alexcovo_eth · x · 2026-10-16
XERJ topped GitHub Trending as repo of the day with 5.4k stars. It pitches itself as a new way for AI to search data: one command indexes code, docs, logs and PDFs for search, RAG, security audits and agent memory — claiming 40x fewer tokens than grep/sed so agents can "know" your data without brute-force scanning.
It's Elasticsearch-compatible so existing clients work unchanged, and ships under Apache-2.0.
