PyTorch models can now deploy to Arm Cortex-M with ExecuTorch runtime under 20 KiB
PyTorch · x · 2026-10-15
PyTorch and Arm have shipped an ExecuTorch Cortex-M backend that lowers quantized models directly to Arm's CMSIS-NN kernels. Because hardware parameters are known at compile time, operator selection, weight layout, and memory planning are resolved ahead of time, shrinking the core runtime to under 20 KiB of flash — bringing wearables, industrial sensors, and appliances into the PyTorch ecosystem via an AOT flow (torch.export → PT2E INT8 quantize → CortexMPassManager → model.pte).
